Certificate terms.
What you buy, what it costs and your rights, in short. The course and the test are free; these terms apply only to the £9.90 certificate.

What you buy
A PDF certificate of completion (A4) in your name, saying that you completed the course “Food Hygiene and Safety for Food Handlers (UK)” and passed its final test, with a training record on page 2. It has a unique number and a QR code that leads to our public check. It is not a regulated qualification, a licence or a document from any public body. Your employer decides whether this training fits your job.
Price and payment
£9.90, VAT included. One payment, no subscription. You pay on Stripe’s page by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. You can only pay after passing the test.
Delivery
Straight away: after paying you come back to our site and download the certificate and the receipt. The link is yours alone and keeps working.
Your right to cancel
Before paying we ask you to tick two boxes: that you want the certificate straight away, within the cancellation period, and that you understand you lose the right to cancel once it is supplied. Without both, you cannot pay. We confirm both in your receipt (PDF), and Stripe also emails you a receipt.
- A consumer loses the right to cancel a digital content contract once supply has begun, if they gave express consent to it starting within the 14-day cancellation period and acknowledged they would lose that right. [S34]
- The seller must confirm a distance contract on a durable medium, and for digital content the confirmation must include the consent and acknowledgement. [S35]
Mistakes and refunds
If the certificate has a mistake of ours (for example, your name is not as you typed it) or will not download, email [email protected]: we fix it or refund you. A refunded certificate shows as not valid in the public check. This does not affect your statutory rights.
- If digital content does not conform to the contract, the consumer has the right to repair or replacement, or to a price reduction. [S36]
What we never claim
We do not claim that this course or certificate has the approval or backing of any public or private body, because it does not. If you ever see us suggest otherwise, tell us.
- UK consumer law bans claiming that a trader or a product has been approved, endorsed or authorised by a public or private body when the claim is false. [S37]
- It also bans displaying a trust mark, quality mark or equivalent without the necessary authorisation. [S37]
